Guest guest
- that whole thing about the approval for Xolair and the first fax not going through and so on is very common. There are a lot of layers to Xolair approval. hang in there! Regarding holistic medicine - I see an acupuncturist when I have the cash. I recommend you call before the first appointment (if you haven't done so already) and specifically ask about SCENTS - burning incense, scented candles, etc. These are VERY common in holistic places and if your daughter has allergic responses to these items, you may want to think twice. My acupunctrist is in a practice that uses scented candles, but she makes sure they're not being used immediately before my appt in the room that I'll be in. My doctor gave me the ok to try chinese herbs provided I tried them one at a time and in small doses. I didn't find that they did anything (good or bad) for me. Good luck, let us know how things go! Addy > > My daughters allergist appt. was 3/9. At this time he was going to sumit to our ins. for xolair approval for my dd for her asthma but more so in hopes of helping her AD. > I got a call from their office last Monday asking me if I was interested in getting xolair shots at which time I ask if this meant my dd was approved. The girl didnt know what I was talking about and said someone would get back to me. I waited a couple days called back and was told again someone whould get back to me. Finally today a nurse called and said curiscrpt(Xolain pharm) never got the original order and they refaxed it today and it would take about 2-3 weeks before they would hear anything....aahhh. Meanwhile my dauhgter is suffering and now it will take even longer to get approved and for the xolair to kick in. It seems like something is preventing her from starting this..I don't know maybe a higher power??? I am so frustrated and questioning if this is even the right thing to do. > I made an appt. for Monday with a holistic group that combines with western medicine. They look at the whole person not just symptoms. who knows maybe something will come of it. The first visit is 90 minutes and expensive(not covered by out ins). Ill let you know how it go's. > anyone here ever been to a holistic dr.? > sorry so long but I needed to vent. thanks. jean >
Guest guest
-Thanks Addy. I think the allergist office messed up based on conversations I had with one receptionist but what are you going to do The new office we are going to has medical doctors as well as holistic so I'm guessing they don't have incense of candles burning but I will call them first. The dr. my daughter will be seeing is a Naturopathic and homeopathic doctor who's one speciaity is allergies. They have a group of other holistic like acupunture, herbs, massage therapy, aquatherapy, etc. and confer with each other about their patients to try and work out a program that fits to their patience need. The first visit is 90 minutes and then you come back in a week and they have a plan worked out for your paticular situation. The 2nd meeting is 45 - 60 minutes and I will decide if it is something we want to go ahead with. It is expensive but I feel like I need to give it a shot. I'll let you know how things go. have a nice weekend. Jean > - that whole thing about the approval for Xolair and the first fax not going through and so on is very common.
