As you know my wife changed jobs. She just got on the medical

insurance package with her new employer and included me in her plan.

This new plan will become my secondary insurance and it will pay for

100% of EVERYTHING mine doesn't.....INCLUDIN G ALL my drug co pays

including xolair. The plan also has dental, vision and it will pay

membership fees to our health club.

Her plan has No pre-existing conditions and NO co insurance payments.

They take only 126.00 in premium a month out of her check for both of

us. It is a blue cross HMO and all my doctors in the area are on the

plan INCLUDING my allergist! The prescriptions are through Caremark.

I think I have died and gone to medical insurance heaven!

They don't pay her half as much as she made at her last job but the

benefits are incredible.

We are so blessed.

You are indeed blessed.  My husband worked for the Post Office and when I

started teaching, he kept me on his medical policy.  Where I worked paid my

insurance as a part of my benefit package, so I had 100% coverage.  It really

came in handy when I had two surgeries during that period of time.  Of course, I

am blessed now because we still have the government insurance supplement to our

Medicare which is like having two policies.  The only rough part right now is

the copay for my meds, but at least I pay nothing for xolair!

 

Doug, I am very happy for you as I know your xolair was taking a chunk out of

your pay check. 

 

I know others struggle to pay their part for the xolair.  But I feel blessed

that there is a drug that can help asthmatics in many instances!  Maybe the cost

will begin to drop a little in the near future.

I just got to health care hell. Laid off this past Thursday...insurance

runs till the end of the month 2/28 Cobra is only 3 months because I

work in a company in Washington DC under 20 people...and cobra payments

are 500 dollars.

it out with your employer.

, there has been some changes in COBRA in the new stimulus package.  Is

this 20 employees and under waiver have you seen it in writing have you checked

with COBRA.

My former employer says I have 9 months but I have yet to see this anywhere

officially.

Yes, but I work in the third world country of Washington DC and only

have 3 months of Cobra. Any ideas of what I do after that.
