Guest guest
All I can tell you is that at a leading pulmonary facilty, I was told that half the patients who were on xolair are no longer on it. What part of the country are you in? Have you had a drought and possibly some pollen is worse? ________________________________ From: uca79iii <uca79iii@...> Sent: Friday, April 17, 2009 3:10:14 PM Subject: [ ] Re: not working > > > Hi > I have only been on Xolair for 3 months and I am finding my asthma symptoms are way worse then they ever have been. My asthma and allergies were fairly controlled with Singulair and albuterol. Now, I am finding I am using my inhaler WAY TOO MUCH - atleast 4 times a day I have this irritating cough and tightness in my chest daily. Have any of you experienced this? I know it's only been a short while I've been on this, but my doctor says by month 3 you should start seeing some results. I also seem to be more sensitive to the cold air - having to use my inhaler because I am on my way to a full blown asthma attack. Have any of you experienced this and if yes, did it go away after a few more shots?? I'm a bit baffled that I am doing so poorly. > Thanks for any help! > Lynn > It takes most people up to a year to see any results. I didn't get any relief for 13. Hang in there, we are pulling for you. Doug Group founder
Guest guest
Lynn-- The xolair simply did not work for them. I think xolair in some people causes some odd reactions. I know it does in my but now I that I been altered, I can not do without it. What was your IGE before xolair? Oddly, I can tolerate the outdoors better than I can the indoors now. I live in the Northeast and yes there is lots of pollen, but for the most part I've been able to tolerate that in the past with singulair. I understand it takes a while for Xolair to work for some people - my concern is my asthma worsening. Do you know why half the people are not taking it anymore?
