Thanks Addy.  The ANP Nurse I see at my Pulmonolgist's office loaded me up with

a high caliber mask (and some for my family as well) when I saw her last week.

She also wrote a prescription for pred.  I'll start it if/when the ash hits.

Just think, I moved out of South Carolina last May because the mold was bad.

What at trade!!

Mike,

I have found that my lungs are generally more tolerant of ALL my

asthma triggers since taking Xolair. I have severe allergic sinus

disease with massive inflammatory responses. Because Xolair has

successfully diminished my allergic response, I have had far fewer

serious sinus and asthma issues. This has effectively interrupted the

sick-prednisone- antibiotic- sick-prednisone- antibiotic cycle allowing

me to stabilize and be far less reactive.

That said, I don't spend any more time in the cold air than I have to

and I still get tight when there's any kind of fire in the area, which

I guess would be similar exposure to volcano ash, but we don't have

any of those in NC, so I can't really say.

Good luck. Wear your mask!
