My Pulmo says that Xolair may be in my near future. I took the IgE (?)

blood test yesterday and am being sent for lung x-rays and liver tests. My

Advair isn't quite doing the trick anymore and I have been on Prednisone more

than not over the last 2 years. Dealt with Cushing effects and then Secondary

Adrenal Insuff. issues and was finally able to wean off with help of an

Endo...only to find myself back on repeatedly. I'm sure you are aware of that

cycle.

Just looking to educate myself about Xolair. Would be happy to share any of my

experiences along the way if I am indeed put on the treatment. I'm very excited

about the possibility. And very thankful to have found such an informative

page. Karin Green

Welcome to the group.  I have found this group to be congenial, helpful, caring

and knowledgeable.  It is a group composed of people who are willing to share

their experiences and their ups and downs.

Xolair is not a cure....we all wish it was!  But it is a drug therapy that has

helped many people for as many years as it has been on the market.  You will

find Doug, Addy and extremely knowledgeable and helpful with questions.

Do trust you will be able to begin xolair soon.  It has helped me tremendously.

I have not had to take prednisone in over three years and this January had an

upper respiratory infection for the first time in three years, but I did not

have to have prednisone!  I do still have asthma that the xolair does not treat,

but it is very well controlled with meds.

Good luck and God bless.

Yep, I'm on yet another burst of that evil candy right now. With 40 mgs in my

system I have cleaned my entire house today...my hubby's favorite side effect :)

Just want to thank everyone for the warm welcome. Have a feeling I'm gonna feel

right at home here.

Just don't stay on the evil candy too long or else if you are on it for 3 years

as I have been, it will bite you on both cheeks. I have cushings and diabetes

from it and neither one is fun at all.

Keep that house super clean, wear a mask when you are in doctor's offices or

crowded places (who cares what people think--let them stare and show their

ignorance and rudeness) and if you have a pet, get tested for it.

Best, LMA
