Has anyone else noticed that eczema is worse on xolair? I seem to be much more

sensitive to food related eczema than I was pre-xolair; started on it 8 months

ago. I also seem to be extremely sensitive to hand soaps. I can only use one

kind or my hand starts peeling and getting thick skinned. Just wondering if

it's xolair of something else? Maybe old age?

Thanks for you input.

Terri,

Some of our members have reported that their exema is better after Xolair. The

only way to really know is to ask our prescribing doctor and maybe a

dermatologist. Xolair didn't help my Psoriasis one bit! :(

I can only tell you that I have more food allergies which are IGE mediated and

not IGG mediated which is unusual. This has all been confirmed by blood tests.

hi terri,

my eczema appeared to get a little better with the xolair. not tons better, but

a little, although its very subjective. (i.e. when my eczema is flaring, i'm

sure that its never been *this* bad before...when really, i'm sure it has, and

worse). thinking back, i wish i had taken photos throughout the year of my skin.

it would have been a good way to compare.

an aside, my allergist has me taking lactobacillius (brand name - culturelle

-its an OTC but my pharmacist had to special order it for me). in theory, it

helps eczema. i take it, as well as the RN at my drs office.....and i think it

does help. :)
