Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My name is Mickey and am a special education teacher of infants and children birth to 3 years of age who are seen in their homes (Early Intervention). I just joined your group. I had asthma as a child until puberty. In my late 30s, the asthma began slowly to come back. I am now 59 and for asthma medication, I am on singulair, spiriva, advair, albuterol rescue inhaoers and nebulizer treatments as needed. In the last year, the asthma has gotten worse. Last winter I had 4 bouts of bronchitis and asthma. I seem to use the rescue inhaler several times a week. Two weeks ago, the pulmonologist wanted blood tests. He called the other night saying my IgE levels were " massively high " at 1027. Therefore I am a candidate for Xolair. The office is getting pre- approval and then I can start the injections. He also wants me to see an allergist to find out more about my allergens. Any information about Xolair and its side effects would be appreciated. Thank you.
