I have never been to Savannah, but I have a MIL who loves to go to celebrity

restaurants. This is what I would do.

If you have your heart set on eating there.

-Call in advance if they take reservations or do they take them at all. Usually

this doesn't deter my MIL, as she is more than willing to wait over 1 hour for a

table.

-Say you have elderly relatives who want to eat there, but can't tolerate the

lunch/dinner rush circus. Is there a better time to come? Usually a good

restaurant will say 8 pm is our dinner rush, and hour before or an hour after we

slow down. You might not get the " daily specials " , but hopefully the service and

food will be a bit better.

I never do buffets, especially when it is lunch/dinner rush. No matter where I

go, the depleted items are never refilled in a timely fashion. My MIL doesn't

care, and loves buffets. I personally get skeeved out by people grubbing thru

the buffet line, but I have issues ;)

Some places are just zoos. MIL loves to go to enmuth (MIchigan), and get

their chicken dinners. The two major restaurants are always busy busy busy. I

don't think the chicken dinners are worth the crowds and over stimulation, but

my husband's family does.

So, do your homework and set reasonable expectations. Deen's place doesn't sound

like Les Halles in New York ($$$$ beef restaurant). Maybe it's like enmuth.

There isn't a down time, and the food is middling, but you just want to have the

" a Deen Experience. " Nothing wrong with that. I would never ever go to

either Mouse World, but obviously zillions do, and Mr Mouse is an extremely

wealth rodent. Hehehe...

I wish I was planning a trip. Have fun!

Nan
