Guest guest
It also took me over a year for noticeable improvement. I have not experienced any negative reactions or adverse symptoms from Xolair. Guest guest
I improved dramatically after the first shot. I've had 3 now. That said, I just left the ER after a lovely asthma attack. sigh!! Guest guest
kelijeans-- as I said, I enjoy a love hate relationship with xolair. sinusitis can be a side effect and I never had this terrible thick thick sticky mucus before I started xolair. the mucous began after my second treatment and I wanted to quit but my husband said not to--read told me he would divorce me if I did not continue because xolair was supposed to be the cure according to my pulmonologist. since taking this drug though, I like you have become very food sensitive and I have this theory that if you take a highly allergic person and give them a dna altering drug which knocks out certain sensitivities, then the individual become sensitive to other things. take care of yourself. lma ________________________________ From: instdesgn1 <instdesgn1@...> Sent: Sunday, March 8, 2009 9:00:59 PM Subject: [ ] Re: sicker than ever Definitely tell your doctor what's happening. You might have another disease process going on in addition to the asthma. Most of us have (or at least I do) multiple diagnoses. How do you do for the first few hours after the Xolair shots? Although it's extremely rare, there are some people who react to Xolair. I had several incidences of upper respiratory infections (cold/flu) while on Xolair which my pulmo told me could be s side effect. On the other hand, w/o Xolair I had had lengthy stretches of cold/flu also. I tended to feel tired and achy all over but with the flu I couldn't do water exercise so that might have had something to do with it. It took several months (6 ?) of the highest dose before I noticed any asthma improvement. It took 8 months before I finally noticed I didn't have to take pseudoephedrine hardly at all (sinusitis). So, it might just take more time. Even so, if you're getting worse you need some medical intervention. This has been a really tough winter for the flu in some parts of the country - I had it for 3 months. Be sure to take care of yourself. > > I've taken xolair 6 months now but feeling worse, my asthma and allergies have increased, I'm down to eating only a few foods and have been unable to go outside (cold air) for more than minutes. I've never been this sick, ever. > > Has anyone felt worse but got better over time taking xolair ? >
