Zyflo is a leukotriene inhibitor--like singulair. Very different

mechanism from Xolair. I was on zyflo pre-xolair in combination with

singulair and may have received some benefit from the combination for a

short time, but not a lasting one.

Thanks for your response. He put me on Singulair also. Also wants me to continue

my Advair 500/50. Wants to try this for three months. If no change in my FEV1 we

will go to Xolair.

I spent 6 weeks in Denver at Natl. Jewish 10 years ago and they concluded that

Singulair did nothing for my type of " severe asmtha " . So I am a bit frustrated

with going this route but my Pulmo says that was 10 yrs ago. Guess I'll just

try to be patient and time will tell.

I tried Zyflo for about 6 weeks.  Surprisingly, I developed a rash/red marks

around my calves and ankles.  I was moved onto Xolair at that point.

Hi:

I have been getting Xolair shots for six years, I have also been taking Zyflo

for six years.  I think your doctors correct in trying the Zyflo first.

My Pulmo was considering me for Xolair but has decided to try me with Zyflo

CR(Zileuton) first. Are these drugs similar at all? We're trying to improve my

FEV1 on my PFT's which is crazy low. He said my IgE was not as high as he had

suspected but that we will use it as a Plan B. Has anybody on here used Zyflo

before switching to Xolair?
