Guest guest
Tony, To answer your question- yes, I'd be open minded about any legitimate faith (example- I wouldn't be open to something like a " Midgets are God " or " Midgets are the Devil " religion, but I'd kind of hope conference committee would use enough discretion on that one). But no, I wouldn't be bothered by other religions meeting (not to get into a religious debate here, but there's actually some legitimate Christian denominations where I wouldn't attend their services, but if I remember, these have been non-denominational). To address the comment about the opportunity being there vs. the requirement: To an extent, offering room for a Christian faith service or whatever doesn't *make it necessary* to have room for a Jewish or Muslim or Hindu service *if no one properly asks for it*. If they don't want to reserve space or have a public meeting (in a workshop room), they're not forced to. Yes, they can't be denied if they do it right, but you can't force them to meet either. Let me try putting it a non-religious way; let's say someone wants to have a meeting of people who are opposed to the portrayal of LPs in the media; yes, you'd have to allow if it was asked for space for people who are in agreement of LPs portrayal in the media, but you wouldn't have to make them meet if they didn't want to. Does this make more sense? And again I ask- what's making you go; and if this was that big of an issue with LPA, have you said something to your district director, or how come it hasn't been this big of an issue until right now?
