Guest guest
, What you say seems very logical to me... since earwax is the body's way of protecting the ear, it seems that when other parts nearby (such as the sinuses) are irritated, it might rev up the earwax production, especially if the sinuses are not draining well and might be creating irritation in the inner ear. My son is on Dallergy, and Nasacort and Astellin sprays. I have three kids on antihistamines and they are all on something different (the others are on Zyrtec and Allegra). What works for one does not seem to work for the others! By the way, most of my kids don't get a runny nose when they are having allergy problems.. they get a sore throat. Their sinuses just seem to mostly drain right down their throats and rarely out the nostrils. I try to listen hard in the mornings because the best clue I have is that " sniff, sniff " in the mornings when they first get up. Caroline > From: " K. Guest guest
Aeri, Try putting a little coconut oil on a q-tip in your nostils twice a day (morning/night). This has helped me immensly! I put it in my ears as well. It will create a lot of mucus but this is a good thing. Your body is getting rid of toxins so just keep spitting it out. Yes, it is annoying and inconvenient but it is part of the healing process. I have been on this program for almost 9 months now and I am still dealing with post nasal drip but my nose is as clear as a whistle and I haven't had a sinus infection in over a year, which is a milestone in itself. The natural healing process is slow so don't expect results overnight but it DOES work. Shirley >From: <aamadis-noel@...> >Yes! Guest guest
Drink as much water as you can. Water helps thin the mucous and flush the toxins from your body. We'll see what happens...maybe my body will heal without making more post nasal. *crosses fingers*. It is a lot easier to act ourselves into new thinking than to think ourselves into a new action. Aeri, I sure feel for you. Hang in there. Do ensure you have plenty of moisture in the air as well by boiling water on the stove for 2 hours before you go to bed, or use a humidifier. Did you check out the Sinus & Nose treatments? Garlic tea with lemons and ginger is excellent for breaking up mucus too - drink 4-5 cups per day - see the Recipe Folder under Drinks & Teas. You can add ginger to it by cutting up coins of raw ginger and put them in along with the lemon juice and raw crushed garlic, allowing them to steep 20 minutes. You can also sniff a bottle of oil of oregano several times a day. Luv, Bee

Guest guest
Sounds like a deviated sectum(sp) to me or maybe you need to have your sinuses drained a very painfully procedure. What I do is take a coprcedian C HBP cause of my other medications. or use salt water close one nostril sniff it up and then the other one. Dr.OZ said once on Oprah get a Nettie pot like a child's tea pot put salt water in it with your head over the sink and on one side pour in the solution of salt water then change sides and do it .He also said it will sting but clean out your sinuses. you can find the Nettie pots at any health food store. Good luck. It is pollen season big time again so that means more sinuses problems. hugs Heidi

Guest guest
Saline rinses really help me! Especially in the winter when it is crazy dry, or allergy season. I had my turbinates reduced a few times over the years. This procedure is done right in the doctors office. Painful, but helps! That is why I was wondering what was actually blocked or blocking your breathing. Carolyn > > > Thank you ..I mean i'm not going to jump to have surgery on anything...I will try this. Maybe its my medicine,or Fibro fog. They said its so close to my brain, would be the only thing they take precautions about. I have 4 bad disk in my neck, so they usually won't do anything in office. Guest guest
My son had surgery for nasal passages that were narrowed. This was suppose to help with the sinus drainage. It is very painful for a few days after surgery. His problem is no better since the surgery. He is still bothered with plugged sinus. Living in MI we do have a lot of pollin from spring to winter. allergies are very common. My allergies are better since I use Rhinocort daily and take Allegra.. I don't have to use O/C.nose spray anymore since this routine. Elaine

Guest guest
I use a NeliMed as well. My " AAI " doc was the one who recommended it. He gave me the actual NeliMed, so I don't know how much they cost. I pick up the refill's are $11.99 for 100 " saline mix " packets at my local pharmacy. (My problem is, if my sinuses get all messed up, it'll go straight to my chest. I end up developing a weird " mucus plug " at the top of my bronchial tubes, which then triggers my Asthma.) ________________________________ From: " Oneroyal@... Guest guest
My sinus problems are the reason I started Xolair. My ENT has me use 1 .5mg Pulmicort Respule in my NeilMed. It has really helped keep the sinus swelling down which helps things drain. I do this twice a day. It's the only thing that has helped me. Guest guest
i'm a huge fan of mucinex - it really does help to lessen the goop in the chest and sinuses (of course, if you're like me and sensitive to decongestants, take the regular mucinex, not the mucinexD). hot showers, sinus rinse (dr has me adding pulmicort to it)...i've thought about sinus/head removal, but that seemed pretty permanent! wish there was a better answer! feel better. heather > > Good morning, > > Since it's off topic weekend and I have sinus infection, > I thought I'd ask anew what home remedies and palliative > care some of you are using when you have sinus infections > or episodes. Guest guest
YES!!!! I know they all say drink LOTS of fluids to make sure you don't get a build up. If I drank any more water, juice, tea and even coffee... I'd float away!! ( not to mention the gazillion trips per day to the loo that are so annoying! AND..I'm sure you are so honored that I shared THAT with you.) But, before I started taking Xolair it was MUCH worse, especially if I had a URI on top of that. ________________________________ From: Jeannie Sheehan <fgigles55@...> Sent: Saturday, October 10, 2009 10:21:55 PM Subject: Re: [ ] sinuses to Kk. when I get a sinus infection it goes straight to my chest as well.
