I would talk to your doctor about other payment options and assistance from the

Genetech Foundation.  Can you manage COBRA for 2 month?  You might also to try

to negotiate with HR to get on the new insurance sooner as part of your

package.  I had trouble waiting 3 weeks after my preauth renewal had a hangup.

I agree the insurance companies have some creative ways of making life difficult

for some of us.

Hi all,

Has anyone stopped their Xolair shots for a few months and then

restarted them? It looks as though I am going to have a lapse in

health insurance coverage for 2 months as I go from one employer to

another, and I am worried about not having the shots for a couple of

months, then resuming them again. Do you think there will be any

problems getting back on them after a 2-months lapse?

Thanks!

I was forced to do this. It depends on your new insurance plan's

requirements regarding pre-existing conditions on how long it will

take you to get approved to get Xolair again. You may be required to

get a new IgE level from your doctor, but other than that, you should

still qualify. I agree with 's post - with everything she said.

I did see an increase in symptoms while I was off Xolair.
