Guest guest
Just wondering if the lung nodules have been biopsied? I had a " nodule " that showed up in a chest x-ray several years ago and freaked me out. In the catscan it disappeared. The physician's assistant said there is something called a " nipple shadow " that can show up appearing to be a nodule but is just a fluke .. I really do feel so much for you. I've had many illnesses and frustrating experiences with doctors over the years - asthma being one of the biggies. As others have noted, prednisone/steroids will really change thinking. So does anesthesia and other drugs. A close friend goes off the deep end on antidepressants but it turns out what he actually has is a mood disorder and requires a different treatment. Remember, your brain, which influences your mind, is a physical part of your body too and when it's affected you will have thoughts and feelings accordingly. I think they used to say it takes a full year to recover from abdominal surgery and a hysterectomy really throws the endocrine system out of whack assuming they took the ovaries too. That requires treatment, especially in a young woman. Boy, does that ever have an effect on mood among other things. I was on Plaquenil for arthritis for over a year - my pulmo thought it would help with the allergies too although unfortunately there wasn't any benefit in that area. I read on a message board that Plaquenil could be a slight mood lifter although I didn't notice it at all while on it. In mid July, after increasing the dose I had a horrible reaction, including severe burning in palms of hands and soles of feet, tingling, pains shooting up and down my arms and legs, feminine pain, and was just about crazy from the agony. I tried it again and had the same reaction but stopped sooner. Then I went into a sort've mental slump in which I didn't care about anything and just plain couldn't seem to function. I didn't feel I had the strength to figure out every day issues. So, perhaps the Plaquenil was giving me a mild " lift. " My point is, that meds DO affect mood differently in different people. Being short of breath is definitely a downer - my mind goes to slush temporarily. Keep looking for and demanding help and explanations.
