Guest guest
First off, there is absolutely no acceptable excuse for drinking and driving, and the consequences of such an action can be fatal. Then there is the " how-evers " As I believe the bible says something to the effect 'let the innocent throw the first stone'. Meaning, hand on heart, come on, how many people who are drivers can honestly and truly say they have not driven with 'some' alcohol in their system? So how many members of this list does that leave with a stone in their hand? Apart from Matt's legal problems, sadly, his fame is his second major problem. Somehow, society expects anyone and everyone in the public glare to be totally super squeaky clean. That is total fiction! So when anyone IN the public glare transgresses even slightly, it is built into a MAJOR issue. Then there is the fact that Matt, being dwarf, would have had one hell of a time in jail ! His experience there would have been far, far, worse than that of an average size person. Sadly, for me, the negative issue of this discussion seems to have obliterated all the good that Matt and his family have done in regard to public awareness of the 'average' dwarf family. Yes,yes, I know they have probably made a fortune out of it. But good on them! How many more of us would subject our family and daily routine to the scruteny of a media crew, sometimes 24/7? We criticise, yet in effect, we all, every dwarf man, woman and child, do, indirectly, thrive from these programmes. Matt has been extremely, EXTREMELY, lucky this time. I sincerely hope he learns from this experience. O.K., my honest thoughts on the issue. Fire away. Fred Roloff not guilty What do the Matt haters have to say now? Guest guest
Not going to fire away. Just point out a couple things. Matt was being tried for misdemeanor DUI, which means there would be no jail time, just a fine and loss of driving privileges (which would probably have given Zach more driving responsibilities). I do have some friends with an LP son who did some serious jail time. And you're right, it was terrible. He spent a lot of time in solitary confinement for his own safety. Yes, celebs are put under an unfair microscope. But that's the nature if our media-driven society. Matt knew the rules of the game going in. I am happy for his family this is over. And I hope Amy cracks his knuckles with a wooden spoon! In the USA they usually get off because they have the most bucks to pay for the best attorneys and judges (did I say that?) I don't really care if they made a bundle on their show I DID care about the near miss of ruining the LPA under his " tenure " which I readily admit negatively impacted my opinion of Matt. But I still love you Fred! Roloff not guilty What do the Matt haters have to say now?

Guest guest
List Sorry about the blank message before. I " fat fingered " the mouse. While I have my own opinions on the Matt Roloff matter, as a district officer I am obligated to withhold them. A couple of facts, however: 1. Matt's license is suspended until the summer of 2010. You can bet the Washington county's sheriff's department will be watching for him - especially since he was beligerent to the arresting officer. I hope he does not drive. 2. Matt's first DUII was in 2003 - when he was LPA National President. As a fellow LPA member and district director, I wish the Roloffs all the best and hope that they have a much happier future.
