Pericardial effusion?

Hi everyone,

First of all, thanks to all of the posters on this board. When my dr.

first suggested Xolair I was thrilled to find someplace that answered

my questions in language I understood. You all were a godsend to me

then, so I'm looking to you again for some input.

I was told today that I have a small pericardial effusion and I have an

appt. with the cardiologist in 2 weeks. Has anyone else experienced

heart issues after starting Xolair? I don't think it's related, but

that is the newest drug I'm on & I'm just trying to rule out anything I

can. (Trust me, there are many other drugs & health issues that may be

to blame.)

Here's my background...

I was diagnosed with asthma in April 2006 after a bout of pneumonia

(and a lifetime of severe allergies). I started Xolair injections in

July 2008 after 2 years of semi-relief from the " normal " drugs and am

fortunate enough to be one of those people who saw relief rather

quickly. Xolair not only helped my asthma, but has also had a

tremendous effect on my allergies. My dr. has already cut my Advair

back to 250 from 500 & taken me off one of my antihistimines. My hives

are gone. My inhaler is lonely, and until this heart thing, I was back

to my pre-asthma self.

Any thoughts or information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kathy
