Guest guest
In this life I look around and sometimes wonder how and why it is that we often focus so much time and energy on things that we know can't and won't change. (I have done it myself) We fight about words that we don't like instead of just ignoring it and moving on...they are just words and really don't mean anything unless we allow them too. We try changing people who we know will never change. If someone wants to wallow in misery let them! leave them alone! They will only drag you down with them. Yes, sometimes our size can become a problem, in the stores, reaching things and so on. However, the harsh truth is that while somethings are adaptable and some places will accomadate us. We are a small % of the world, in other words the world is never going to " Adapt to us " sure things will improve and with shows like Matt Roloff has. It does help. We have to remeber something very important, in some places people may never have even seen someone disabled or like us...so yes, to them their reaction may be whatever it is. Regardless, there are always going to be people making fun of us and laughing at us because they don't understand us and who know's maybe had we never been born like this and not known this life we may have at some point laughed at someone like ourselvs too. The whole world is never going to adapt for us or the disabled. We have to sometimes learn to adapt to it. I think that we should all be very thankful for the time were in right now because 40 or 50 years ago the only things available for people like us were in a circus or as a carnivale situation. Sadly a lot of LP's are depressed and unhappy some have taken their lives over their depression, this really bothers me too. There are so many others out there worse off than someone being smaller. We should be thankful for what we have and learn to accept ourselvs. I am comfortable with how I look and what I am, So I am short and use crutches, so I walk funny and am crooked! I have a lot of talents that some people would love to have and don't. There are some very attractive LP women and good looking LP men out there so, we don't have things so bad. I am not botherd by names like the dreaded um " M " word...because like I said. I know who and what I am and to me, people only name call because I bother them or they don't understand me. So I just laugh at it and walk away. Unless someone asks me something totally ignorant I don't bother. I see sometimes how some people with disability's try to prove to the world how " Normal " they are....the truth is I know I am not " Normail " but I don't need a reason for it. I don't need to believe that God made me like this or there is some reason for it to be able to accept it. I am just me, I was born defective, this happens in all of nature. Plants, fish, and all types of life. It's not a perfect world and sometimes there are flaws. That's not a bad thing, I just don't believe that God would think like us and go hum...I am gonna make that person small for a reason, to be frustrated and picked on and prove he or she can overcome it and earn their way into the kingdom. If someone else wants to believe that, more power to them but not me. I just do the best I can day to day and thats it. I wish you all a great 2008
