Guest guest
Hello. I just got my first injections of Xolair last Thursday. I got the max, 375 mg (came in three shots). At first, I felt okay. I got a little shaky a bit later. About nine hours later, I had terrible heartburn and my throat felt funny, as did my tongue--they mainly felt burned. As the days went by, I began to get anxiety more and more, until finally, Easter night, my bp was high, as was my heart rate. I was taken to the hospital. I had not slept much in three nights, either. By the next morning, in the hospital ER, I was so anxious, I was pacing. My entire insides felt as though I had an earthquake going in, especially in my legs, stomach and chest. I was given Benadryl, nothing. Atarax twice, nothing. Finally, Valium made me sleep for 12 hours. I'm now on Klonopin, which is causing anxiety and itching. I was taken off of my Allegra, which I usually tolerate well, because I now don't tolerate it (causes anxiety). My doctor told me it was a reaction to too much Xolair, that my body is so sensitive right now that I can't handle too high of a dose. I am to work with the anti-anxiety meds to keep me as calm as possible until the Xolair is out of my system, then we're to try again at a much smaller dose. Anyone else do this or heard of it? If so, how did the smaller dose go for you or for whomever you heard of? Thank you.
