Guest guest
Hello Everyone, So last night I was able to leave work early at 11p instead of working till 1am, woohoo! I needed provisions and I had frequented Walgreens for several days so instead I decided to go to Pick N Save (grocery store) for the first time by my new apt. They were open till midnight so it was nice shopping in peace and quiet. I then go to check out and it was some funky system where you scan your own items and put in your cash or credit card, that's how they all were. There was a cashier and he asked if I had used this system before and I stated no. He scanned my stuff (which you are supposed to yourself), he put in my credit card (which you are supposed to yourself), then I had to sign, well guess what, I could not reach, could not even come close (I am 3'4). I asked if there was a different type of register and he said no, I asked if he could print out what I should sign, he said he wasn't able to, I then just asked him to sign an x because I was in a hurry to get home, he said he could not do that. He then went and got another employee and they got a blue plastic milk crate for me to stand on. I was very nice (as I don't like being yelled at by my customers) but stated this was absolutely unacceptable on so many levels and stated " I can see you are not accessible. " I do not stand on milk crates. I am very happy that I did not go during busy shopping hours as the people behind me would not have been pleased at all. I could not reach anything, the credit card slot, the cash box, the sign box, nothing. Fine, I understand that is their height, however they should have the power to over ride that to print receipts so I can sign or have one lower for wheelchairs. I am going to speak to someone about this but I am thinking of bypassing the store's manager and contacting the general manager because Pick N Save is a chain so if this store is like that, then all of them are more than likely like that. I will let you all know the results as they happen! I do have to give kudos to one store in particular: Petsmart! I am getting a cat and I've been there several times to get supplies. At their registers, low, my level, are a white wheelchair sign that says for our guests with disabilities, it is a pull out surface to write checks on. OMG it is wonderful! I don't have to write my checks in the air or on my hand! Now that is what I am talking about! ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing.
