Guest guest
. Get the H1N1 shot. Don't kill youself to do it but if you have access go for it. You stress me out girl. It's bad for my nerves. You work in a germ factory, have a sketchy immune system and all you need is to end up on the wrong end of a vent. I am worried about you!!! Who else will I wank to? I got mine at work on Friday. My arm hurts. That's all. Guest guest
I got the H1N1 shot and did not experience any side effects, It's interesting that there was H1N1 available but not the " regular " flu shots. My Dr said they ran out of the " regular " twice. I now have an appointment to get the regular flu shot tomorrow, they just received another batch. Guest guest
I have had both flu shots and last week had allergy testing for the first time in 20 years! Highly allergic to mountain cedar, ragweed and mold; moderately allergic to  house dust, trees like pecan and oak, weeds and pets (I have never had a cat and our dogs were outside dogs.) Doctor thinks I should try the shots again since my asthma is now pretty much under control. We'll decide in three weeks......Even with the extreme cold here, I have been feeling rather well...am thankful for that. From: meagainbenny <meagainbenny@...> Subject: [ ] Re: I'm wondering Date: Wednesday, December 2, 2009, 8:32 PM  Hello, I hope more people have been able to receive the H1N1 vaccine since it was last discussed... Of course NY state distributed it to my primary's office this week while I'm on an evil-candy taper for some nasty bronchitis - you can't get vaccinated if you're acutely ill apparently. I did get my Xolair yesterday though and my primary is 'holding a dose' of the H1N1 for me for 2 wks. So distribution is no longer the problem -- its my lungs! Ahhhhhh! Oh well, we'll be all set soon hopefully! I hope everyone had a healthy, happy & safe Thanksgiving! Guest guest
I had to take this antibiotic when I had a tooth root removed.  I will never ask for it or take it unless it is a last ditch effort to clear up an infection (which I had at the base of the root that was removed.) I was told this was the only one that would clear up the gum infection. From: brown_with_blue <rrgrimes_u3@...> Subject: [ ] Re: I'm wondering Date: Friday, December 4, 2009, 8:57 AM  I had the same thing happen but had chaulked mine up to me having mono and a weak immune system, never thought about the h1n1 vaccine being a possible culprit although I typically feel cruddy a few days after the regular flu shot almost like a cold or something. Mine responded well to antibiotics, but my antibiotic of choice is clindamycin due to all my drug allergies... not one I recommend if you have other options due to the havoc it wrecks on your digestive tract for weeks and months afterwards, it literally kills everything. > > > > > > what everyone's doctors have told them about the H1N1 shot in terms > > > of how and where to get it? Guest guest
These flu injections alter the immune system and if you do not have a great immune system to begin with, where does that leave you? I just saw a kid on tv who was a star athlete in high school one day and after receiving his flu injection, ended up with GBS the very next day. These injections contain preservatives and additives, etc. It is best to avoid crowds. This morning, we tried to eat a pancake house but there was a huge wait so we chose a restaurant where we were the only patrons because we got there as soon as it opened. It's just not worth the risk to me in my condition to take a chance on contracting something. I've skipped the flu vaccine for many years because I remember too well that the years I got the vaccine (obviously not the H1N1) it seemed like I had more severe and frequent infections. Interestingly, my sister, who has had trouble with long term bronchial infections every fall and winter for several years finally decided not to get the flu shot last year and wallah! She never did develop bronchitis. While I realize that this is all anecdotal and could be " explained away " I also know that vaccines in relationship to all people, including those of us with significant ongoing diseases are not really understood. There have been too many treatments out there over the years that were supposed to be harmless and they are not. One allergist told me about 6 years ago that it was not possible to have an allergic reaction to Xolair, for instance, because it was a biologic - not a drug. You can tell from this message board plus data from the govt and even Genentech that indeed some people *do* have an allergic reaction to Xolair. Not everyone, and not even most, but enough that we know people are different and " one man's medicine is another man's poison. " (forgive me for deffering to the male reference here) Of course, (smile) when I do come down with a URI, I will come here for consolation!
