Guest guest
I had my first 2 shots yesterday.....300Mg in total. I had to stick around for 2 hours in the event of any reactions. They schooled me on the use of the Epipen and the need to keep it close. I am wondering how long to you have to have the Epipen with you from the start of the shots. I am a bit unnerved from the lecture they gave me on the potential side effects: anaphylaxix, cancer, heart problems. Also, how long does it take to start feeling the positive affects...that is, if it does work for me....thanks all for your great comments...Mark
Guest guest
i've heard a reaction can happen anytime within 24 hours - but i really don't think you need to carry it room to room with you, just know where it is (i.e. mine is always in my pocketbook). it usually takes 6-12 months to see improvement. i started seeing improvement about 8 months in. keep us posted on how you're doing with it! heather > > I had my first 2 shots yesterday.....300Mg in total. Guest guest
I'm on 300mg twice monthly - I started to see an improvement in about 8 weeks, so you might be one of the lucky ones like me who see improvement sooner. I think what I found most amazing was that once I felt the full benefits of Zolair, I realized how sick I had been. Until you know what it's like to feel WELL as opposing to feeling sick all day, every day, even with meds, it's difficult to have any sort of perspective. Here's hoping you feel much better very soon! > > I had my first 2 shots yesterday.....300Mg in total. I had to stick around for 2 hours in the event of any reactions. Guest guest
I have been on xolair 2 shots every two weeks since September 2003. Before then I was on every kind of asthma med around PLUS 40 mg of Prednisone daily and still wheezing. At 6 months, I saw no relief and asked my doctor to take me off of it. He talked me into staying the course and 6 months later I got results. Here it is 6 years later and I am completely off Predinsone and only use a neb or rescue inhaler twice a day. Give it time to work and trust your doctor Doug Group founder
