Guest guest
I agree about the weather being a factor, too. On Saturday our temp was 95, yesterday we did not get out of the low 70's. It was in the 40's this morning and has creeped up to 54. Not supposed to get above he low 60's and it is very windy as well....a dry, dusty, pollen filled wind! I will stay in doors as much as possible. I have had some sneezing and drippy nose, but not constantly and not bad at all! I am sure xolair has had something to do with that! Have a wonderful Easter. I add my prayers, too, for those of you who are suffering during this season....God bless... Several in my choir (I am a music minister) are on their 2nd and 3rd rounds of antibiotics and hopefully, they will be ready to sing next week during our Easter Musical. My wife has never had it this bad in her life. She will be seeing the ENT again this week. Personally, I have been BLESSED tp NOT had ANY problems with sinuses and throat poblems. I don't know it it is the regular allergy shots and XOLAIR twice a week that is keeping me infection free or what but I am very grateful. In my opinion (of course I am NOT a doctor, just a patient) I think it is the wierd weather we are having this year. 70 degrees one day and 30 the next. The plant life starts pollinating then gets confused. Thursday and Friday it was a warm 70 degrees with pollen everywhere. Yesterday, it was a cold and windy 40 and today it is in the 30's. I think allergy has a lot to do with it too. I am going to see if we can get my wife started on allergy shots since she now has good insurance. My prayers go out to you who are suffering hard with this. Hang in there, Doug Group founder On xolair since August 2003
Guest guest
Temperature does not have a consequence. as far as fluctuations in temp, well that's just spring for you. look up any temperature archive over the years and you will see this. nothing new. As far as 'pollen free wind', keep in mind the large majority of allergenic pollen is invisible to the naked eye. if you are in a region that has the yellow pine pollen blowing in the wind, that is likely not the culprit. pine pollen is not particularly allergenic, and it is too heavy to stay airborne to cause problems. best thing to do is look at pollen counts for the regions you are in. they are collected on rooftops of various buildings by very small sample detectors that are kinda sticky. > > From: uca79iii <uca79iii@...> > Subject: [ ] Sinusitis and xolair > > Date: Monday, April 6, 2009, 7:20 AM > > > > > > > Many, many people in my area are suffering with sinus infections lately. > > Several in my choir (I am a music minister) are on their 2nd and 3rd rounds of antibiotics and hopefully, they will be ready to sing next week during our Easter Musical. > > My wife has never had it this bad in her life. Guest guest
For me it is not the changes in temp, but the fluctuations in barometric pressure. I have always been very sensitive to these and today it was HORRIBLE as I waited for this terrible storm to come in and pass over. The more the pressure drops, the worse it is. When a hurricane is coming, I know 2-3 days in advance, and I can tell by how bad my lungs get how close it's going to come. As soon as the eye wall passes, my lungs are clear again. My pulmo confirmed that some individuals are legitimately sensitive to barometric pressure, but I cannot sufficiently remember his explanation to reiterate it here.
