Guest guest
After about 14 months on Xolair I noticed the benefit I had gained in terms of controlling asthma definitely dropped. Maybe it was a temporary set back or something else was going on. I'll never know. On the other hand, it took 8 months for Xolair to help my sinuses but when it did it was a big relief as I too have chronic and often severe sinus headaches, pressure, infection. Xolair was still working on the sinuses at 16 months when I quite Xolair due to the absurd demand that I go to an infusion center. I had 1-1/2 years of happy home injecting without a problem so it had nothing to do with Xolair - just a med school doctor that had a too close tie with Genentech. > > Greetings, all. Guest guest
Hi there, Smillen - I'm approaching your question from a different perspective. I had chronic sinusitus for years before I started taking Xolair for my asthma. The Xolair has done nothing for the sinusitus - I still get infections and have to be surgically cleaned out occasionally - but Xolair did a good job on the asthma. As far as I'm concerned, they're not really connected. Ohldepharte ----- Original Message ----- From: smiller@... I've been on Xolair for 1 year and had very quick and almost miraculous results, both in terms of asthma and what had been almost crippling sinus problems. A year later, I continue to get great benefits from an asthma point of view--great peak flows, very clear lungs, no need for pred for 10 months --all in all an amazing result given my history. But about 4 months ago, my sinuses started getting worse (I had a sense of smell for almost 8 months--the first time this had happened for decades) and I am now back to my pre-xolair misery. Has anyone else experienced this split in xolair's effects between lungs and sinuses? I'm on the verge of needing a course of evil candy.
