Strokes while on Xolair

I had a stoke on Sept. 17, 2007 while taking Xolair.  The stroke affected my

eyesight.  I could not read and that continued for 2-3 mos.  I had an

appointment with a neuro-optomolgist and was told that it would get better, but

they had no reason as to why I had the stroke.

I have had a history of migraine headaches and I thought it was just a migraine

but when it wouldn't go away and I woke up that morning not being able to read

the paper, I called my doctor and tests were run immediately which resulted in

the diagnosis of the stroke.

No one could put their finger on the reason.  I even question my allergist as

well as the Xolair team if Xolair could cause strokes.  They said that they had

no report of strokes.

Then in 2008, I had another silent stroke that I did not know about because of

no symptoms..........it was discovered during a routine visual field test at my

optomologists office.  My visual fields were impacted again and now I have a

permanent visual problem with the right side of both eyes.

I again asked the question, has any one else experienced strokes while taking

Xolair.  I posted on line to this website and no one as of 2007 reported

strokes, nor as of 2008.

So I continued with the Xolair because I have never felt this good in 25 years.

I have not had an emergency room visit since starting Xolair.  I have not be

hospitalized for my asthma in 5 years, nor have I had to use prednisone (which

was an ongoing medication for 15 years just to keep the asthma at bay) for the

last 5 years.  Am I symptom free, NO.  I have cut my medication down to one

medication 2 x day, plus the Xolair every other week.

I am 59 yrs. old..........stroke at 57 and 58.  Is it Xolair related, I don't

know...........no one seems to be able to answer the question.

Any one else have comments?
