I experience the same thing--the worst thick nasal junk which I constantly have

to " hock " out of my throat but mine does migrate to the lungs, etc.

I do take generic CVS guisenophen which is immediately released unlike Mucinex.

My pulmonogist says Mucinex thins Nasal drainage only and not what is in the

lungs.

Do you use Sinus Rinses--sometimes using Sinus Rinse makes my drainage more

pronounced.

Subject: [ ] OT - congestion???

while we're kind of talking about congestion - how does anyone solve it? i feel

like i'm in constant battle with the spoo! i can't take any decongestants

(heart rate soars above 120). i've been taking mucinex nearly daily since early

september (and about 2x a week prior to that). i've gotta have a talk with my

dr, as i'm not sure that's really the best plan.

oddly, its not in my lungs (YEAH!) but stays in my sinuses and somewhere b/w my

lungs and throat.

thanks

i'll have to check out teh CVS brand once my HUGE (costco sized) bottle of

mucinex runs out.

i'll have to start taking notice on the spoo-sinus rinse connection. thinking

about it, i don't have as much mucus today, and i forgot to rinse this morning.

(mondays are SO hard!!) i feel like a ticking timebomb, just waiting for the

spoo to head south!

thanks for the CVS tip!

  • 3 weeks later...

Mucinex thins mucus, always a good thing b/c it keeps it moving

and less likely to stick around and get infected.

I'll look for those. I like Tazo Chai tea with a little sugar, cinnamon, and

milk. Also Tazo Zen, without any sweetener or milk.

Tazo Chai's got herbs in it, and it's pretty good for bringing up gunk.
