Guest guest
LOL, i'm sorry, i'm not laughing at you but at the situation. it is so like us... i'm AP and luthien is LP. i can drive fine with the pedal extensions on, but obviously she can't. she sits on a pillow so that she can see the front of the car. i move the pillow when i drive it. i can go on and on congratulations on passing your test! and where the heck did you get extensions for 120$ ????? we paid 400, but they are great pedals admittedly... and transfer to any car. Ok, so last Mon my husband and I went to the DMV and got me a booklet to study. I read it Tues, Wed and Thurs and although my husband wanted me to wait it out an extra week, I went ahead and took the test on Fri. I PASSED!!!!!!!! Since the testing wasn't till later in the day, we went ahead and drove a couple towns away to have peddle extensions put on, they cost $120 for 2 (no tax or labor charge). Can we say.....jumping the gun?!? I guess its a good thing I did pass the 1st time...I mightve had 1 unhappy husband! He's ok w/ them on but I know its not what " he's " used to (being of average height). So yesterday we went in search of something to put in the front part of the bumper because now I have another problem. The front of the car dips down and I cant exactly tell how close I am to the car in front. I know I can always just try to stop further away but Id rather know where my bumper is so when I park, Im not to close to anything w/out running into something. I can elevate the seat enough where I can see but if and when I'm on my own my arms arent long enough to pull the seat forward because the thing is in front of the seat. I have also figured out that because I have to have the seat so far forward that my seat belt doesnt want to reach so far back which getting a seat belt extender is possible but again, reaching for the part that you snap it into is really far back from me. So, aside from these things, I decided to " jump the gun " again and I drove on the freeway last night! I was only able to make it to the next town from where we started and I eventually got off the exit. My hands hurt from holding on to the wheel so tight. My eyes hurt from straining (maybe next time I'll try driving in the daytime). My left arm muscle hurt from keeping the car on the road. OMG! I wonder, does it get better??!!?? ~Sunny Days~ --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
Congratulations! Sunny. It does get easier, to the point where you pull into your driveway and wonder if the car does know how to get home on it's own. >> So yesterday we went in search of something to put in the front part of the bumper because now I have another problem. The front of the car dips down and I cant exactly tell how close I am to the car in front.<< That is one design element I'm not happy with. In my first car or 2 it was very evident where the front of the car was and you could add whatever inches for the front bumper. But, alas some designer discovered these sloping fronts are more aerodynamic and we're left guessing. Happy trails, Who is happy she rarely has to parallel park.
