Guest guest
I think this may be directed at me...if not, I'll chime in anyway. I have been diagnosed with microvascular disease. In short, my heart has become too large for the amount of blood available to it. I have near daily angina, shortness of breath with very moderate exercise, tachycardia and some palpitations. The symptoms are the same as for those with arterial disease. Unfortunately, there is no blockage to repair or to bypass. My arteries are spotless. I do have both hypertension and I am overweight, I'll blame that on the years of prednisone because to blame my eating would require that I have the ability to change. Actually, with Xolair, there's been no pred for months and the weight is dropping, along with how much I eat. As far as the study being skewed....My pulmonologist described it as bad science. It's findings do warrant further study but not changing ones life at this time. I am sticking with Xolair until there is more evidence that I should stop it. I hope this helps. Mike McBride " Blessed is he who, with a hunger that is never satisfied, day and night throughout this present life makes prayer and the psalms his food and drink, and strengthens himself by reading of God's glory in Scripture. Such communion will lead the soul to ever-increasing joy in the age to come. " St. of Karpathos. ________________________________ From: shillskh <shillskh@...> Sent: Sunday, August 30, 2009 10:34:22 AM Subject: [ ] Re: FDA - Xolair Safety Review study EXCELS May I ask how old you are and is ther any heart problems in your family in addition what kind of heart problems are you having? Also do you have any risk factors for heart disease (eg: familial, high cholesterol/ lipids,Hypertens ion, overweight, smoking etc). I am just trying to understand why or how this study may be skewed as I would be interested in the average age, weight, heart risks of both placebo and control group in the study. I think right now it is simply under investigative status and I hope we will know more in the very near future. Unfortunately, these are the unknowns we are faced with involving new drugs. Best of luck to you with your diagnosis.
