Guest guest
For me, there's been no cost whatsoever except for the Medicare and BCBS supplement monthly standard fees. The hospital bills some exorbitant sum like $5000 per month to the insurance carriers and gets paid less than $1000. Actually, BCBS pays a little more than Medicare. I don''t know how it all works, but I'm not questioning - don't want to make waves and queer the deal. I'll look into it at my hospital. The other question is do you have to pay out of pocket the $20,000+ annual cost for the Xolair medication? Or does your supplement cover it? BTW, I'm already exposed to the germs because I work there. Thanks, I'm trying to figure out how to get the right plan, or even if that's an option, or if my husband will have to keep working forever : -) Does Xolar fall under Medicare Part D? Thanks again. Carol Carol - my pulmodude set the whole thing up. I go to the hospital, walk back to OPSU (outpatient services unit), sit down in one of the recliners (each with its own TV) and get the shots. It can take as little as 20 minutes - all depends on the number of people getting outpatient services. I call the nurse when we leave home, and she orders the Xolair to be mixed at the hosp. pharmacy and has it ready to poke in me soon after I arrive. I wait about five minutes after the shot and then call my chauffeur (wife) who is sucking down a latte at a nearby Port City Java to have her pick me up. Not really much sweat or strain except having to drive seven miles to the hospital and having to expose myself to the abundant plethora of resident germs and bacteria.
