Guest guest
I'm not a huge advocate of having a regular LPA national conference in Vegas just b/c there doesn't seem to be as much for little kids and families to do. Unless it's at Exclaibur or Circus Circus. But I bet most of the adults would rather stay at a hotel like Rio, Palms, MGM, The Mirage or something like that. [And I'm thinking of the headaches of chasing after a bunch of the under-21 kids who try to get a cocktail or a game of craps... face it, it's going to happen) But on the contrary, I think a mini winter conference or over-21 LPA event in Vegas is a *great* idea. The whole idea of Vegas is for everyone to purposely have fun ON the strip and use the casinos, clubs, restaurants, shop and see the night shows. Obviously this would be more of a fun gathering event and less LPA business. Seriously, it would be awesome to hang out with LP friends at any of those hot nightclubs or lounges like Pure or Tangerine since it's not something we have the opportunity to do everyday. To be honest - it can be more fun socializing or dancing with your LP friends in those environments. However, not in favor of going to Vegas in the summer... it's not fun. Yes it's dry heat, but it's sweltering dry heat like 110 F. Everyone is going to be miserable and holed up in the hotels all day. In addition, it is a royal pain going from hotel to hotel in the basking heat and the hotels are by walking-distance far away from each other (unless you are willing to fork over the funds for taxis). But some hotels do have partner hotels so there is the monorail and shuttles. Winter or spring break is pretty good though. Over the holidays may be interesting as well since most of the hotels deck out with decorations and have a lot to look at. Irene > > I'm seeing a lot of " whoo-hoo!
