Guest guest
Ige usualy goes up after starting xolair because there are two types of ige-bound and unbound. the xolair binds with allergens thus the bound ige vs the unbound which is the normal ige. as I was told, Genentech is the only place which can differentiate between the two. the bronch was fine. and yes I was out for it. i am put out once a month it seems lately. I had no eosinophils at all in my lungs. ________________________________ From: instdesgn1 <instdesgn1@...> Sent: Sun, September 19, 2010 4:39:03 PM Subject: [ ] Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY XOLAIR GROUP So glad you had a good report. How was the bronchoscopy? Were you " out " for it? Does having eosinophic cells in the lungs indicate something serious? I was thinking that my eosonophils (sp?) were most always elevated on my blood tests. I know that Xolair is supposed to keep the IgE from binding with the mast cells and thereby preventing the cascading events leading to allergic reactions (or something like that) but I didn't know it could actually wipe out the eosonophils. On a separate but somewhat related subject, when I was on Xolair my IgE went up to over 1100 .... However, my allergies were better. Just curious about it all but importantly, things are working for you. > > Carol, > Oh yes indeedy...I have learned so much on here. > by the way I had a broncosopy recent and NO eosinophic cells were > present...(allergic cells)... > I have other issues but this is good news which can be attributed to the >xolair. > Ashleigh > > > > > ________________________________ > From: Carol Corley <floridabouvs@...> > > Sent: Wed, September 15, 2010 8:47:58 AM > Subject: Re: [ ] HAPPY BIRTHDAY XOLAIR GROUP > > > And thank you for giving us a safe place to ask questions and learn. > Carol > > ________________________________ > From: DougB <uca79iii@...> > > Sent: Wed, September 15, 2010 8:48:13 AM > Subject: [ ] HAPPY BIRTHDAY XOLAIR GROUP > > Today, 7 years ago, I founded this group because there was NO place on the web > to discuss xolair. Guest guest
I still have to use my rescue inhaler, but at the same time I go for days without even remembering that I have one!  But if there is mold and heavy pollens in the air at the same time, I usually need to use my rescue inhaler some. And I find I usually need it close to time for my xolair shot! I however, have to still neb daily but not as much as I used to. Xolair has taken away my need for Prednisone and steroids. Doug
Guest guest
Getting off the steroids is the important part. Those drugs are so destructive. The neb may wind you up a bit but at least it won't destroy your pancreas. Xolair came on the market just in time for me. I was consistently trending along a downward spiral. Breathe well!
