Guest guest
Thanks Sylvia. I know my mind says go.go.go..... and your holistic vet idea is good one. There is only one holistic vet I know of a few towns away, which I won't rule out. I do know tho that there are sooo many groomers around and people like ones 'close to home'. Another problem I have is that I am soo new at this (approx. 20 clients) is that I don't have a business license nor is my mom's garage 'inspected' and all the red tape stuff that makes me legal. Currently I am trying by word of mouth to do what I do where I am doing it (buying time) til I can afford overhead. I have been just getting by the past year w/ odd jobs, no set income. Very hard but I am making it. People really like me and there happy pets when they come to pick them up. So many of the dog's have warts, tumors, skin, ear, you name it problems. I make it a point to point these issues out and give the owners little tips like ACV in there 'distilled' water, raw, kelp and on and on........... But these people say they don't have the time to feed raw, let alone get over the raw phobia. I still tell them how I prepare etc.... I have found in my short grooming career (1 year) that people don't have the drive to do these preventable things and would rather pay a vet ALOT of money for stuff that isn't fixing these pets. I want to beleive they truly do love there pets like there own child and I give them the benefit of the doubt as to there ignorance in these matters. And I do mean that sincerely because parents put there faith in doctors so what's the difference. I'm not giving up tho on my dream to sell raw frozen meats, my homemade castille soaps, poo treats (which I already have clients purchasing) and of course a good green supplement. As of late this 'dream' has been haunting me, I just don't know how it is suppose to come true w/o the almight dollar so it's goingto take more than that and it won't be happening today !!! Pam **What I want in my life is compassion, a flow between myself and others based on a mutual giving from the heart.** -- Marshall B. Rosenberg, Ph.D., A Language of Life Dog Siezing ********************************************************************************\ *************************************************************************** Many years ago, i had a kitty that started having seizures, he was about 16 or 17 at the time. The vet said i was lucky to have him so long, and gave him the pheno-barb too and predisone! I didnt like that he was medicated all the time and therefore sleeping, so slowly i cut back and then stopped it. Not knowing what i know now, but have some natural intuition, i went from store bought garbage to the better stuff (nutro at that time) and supplemented him with home-made broth and avocado (vet suggested), he added a little weight and seemd to do much better. He had an occaisonal seizure here and there, and slowly started to deteriorate but he lived to be 21. Your idea is awesome Pam, and i say GO-GO-GO!!!!! There are so many people that have no idea about the natural way for themselves, muchless for their pets! Check around your area for any holistic or natural vets, i bet you could get a load of clients as referals from them.
