Every so often people who are employed and paying towards SSA taxes

will get a newsletter type notice in the mail from Social Security.

On these statements it will show how much you earned for each year,

how many tax credits you have earned as well as how much you will

receive if you apply and qualify for disability benefits. It also

explains what your children could get and surviving spouse in the

event of your death.

On the SSA.gov website, there are several different calculators a

person can utilize to find out what their benefits may amount to as

well.

I'm am weeding out all of my options and resources for my personal

issue. I want to THANK EVERYONE for their input. We have a very

educated and supportive group of people here!

My plan is to A: get my secondary health insurance kicked in or after

a certain amount of time, go to the doctors anyways...and run the

risk of having to have financial difficulties...it may be worth it.

B: Get a power chair and a lift for my car. If the car situation

doesn't work, I need to get a mini-van with a ramp.

C: Get a wheelchair accessible apartment or find a place that could

be made accessible (longer term).

D: work for as long as possible...hopefully I can keep doing this and

won't be so worn out once I get a power-chair. If possible, try the

options of working from home.

Worse case scenario, work part time and collect disability if at all

possible. I already have an idea how much I can earn without losing

benefits...I have specialists here where I work.

Again, THANK YOU everyone!!!
