I love Dr. Tallman. He was able to answer all of my questions right away. He was surprised that my previous Dr. didn't do weekly bloodwork. He did a full metabolic panel. My hemoglobin is 10.1, wbc is 3.0 and platelets are good. One of the thyroid tests came back a little low so I need to follow up with my primary for that. I started back on Gleevec on Monday. I see Dr. Tallman again in a month. I feel so much relief after seeing him. > > > > On another note, does anyone else have an issue with hair loss after going on Gleevec? Guest guest
Hi All Well I am still waiting for the dr. office to call saying they got the xolair. She told me last Mon she sent for it, I called today am waiting for her to call back........geesh! I am so hoping this works for me. I am soooo miserable with the constant coughing, sniffing, wheezing and drainage. I am really looking forward to getting started. I read all the FAQ and got some answers there, that was helpful, thank you. Do you think that we will ever be able to get off the shots? I suppose now since it blocks the toxins being released. Well it is a small thing to pay if it helps. Is the weekend the only time we can talk off topic? Jan
Guest guest
, Just wondering are you feeling any differences with the slight increase, and being off of Gleevec are you feeling better? It shows that my BCR-ABL counts continue to slowly rise. We are now trying to decide at what point I will resume Gleevec. My ONC is treating other CML patients with various other protocols. He is seeing good results with all and thinks that since I am on the first protocol that we should have all the known side effects on the table to work with. If my worst problems reappear then we will move to something else. I have risen from .0001 to .0028 since Jan. 2009. He has set a maximum of .01 but is seriously considering lowering it. We will redo the QT-PCR in Apr and re-evaluate at that time.
