Guest guest
Thanks, Addy. I get just the 150 mg shot and that explains why my cost would be less. I still think it is high, but for the relief xolair has given it is worth the cost! I am glad I have insurance that covers the cost as I could not afford it otherwise. I get 3 vials every 2 weeks, at a cost of about $3700. At $2300 a month, that sounds like 2 vials every 2 weeks. The vials only come in one size, equivalent to a 150mg dose. I believe it is possible to get a 225mg dose, which would be a vial and a half; one would still pay the cost for both vials, though. It takes about half an hour to dilute the powder in the vial into the injectible liquid (please excuse my nonmedical terminology). Doug is right: dosage is based on weight and IgE score. Full prescribing information (including the insert that comes in the box) is available at www.xolair.com Addy Group Co-owner. > > I am a little confused. I get only 1 shot. It costs $2,300 a month. They usually have it mixed when I go in to get it. I have to call an hour before I go. I told her a group I am in the people say they get 2 or 3 shots. Wonder if she is using 2 vials? Anyone else getting just 1 shot? Just curious. I have been the shots since Jan. am can say I feel a difference now. I hardly ever use my inhaler and my lungs seem to clear much faster when I get an infection. Yipee!! Sorry I don't write more, been really busy but I do read every post. Wishing you all good health. Guest guest
I get 1 shot twice a month. I found a receipt and it says they sent 4 at a cost of $2,105. I assume that is for 1 month. ??????? Who knows. Whatever it is expensive stuff. I have a specialty pharmacy, it is WalGreens. I have to pay a small co-pay. I am also on Medicare/medicaide...........guess I am lucky. Next time I go I will ask if there are 2 vials in 1 shot. Jan Thanks for all your input. It is appreciated. May today be twice as good as yesterday and half as good as tomorrow.
