Yep....just had my shot yesterday.  Things are going well...feeling pretty good

overall, staying in out of the heat, and actually having some energy to do some

things inside.  Have had some sinus headaches from whatever is in the

air...tylenol and fexofenadine take care of them at least for right now.

 

Hi Doug...how are you doing?  I noticed that you all have had a reprieve from

the heat.  Send it out way down in South Texas!

It's been a while since I posted....I guess Doug's hellooooooooo got my

attention - had to miss a shot after the first three - I was pretty tigh and

wheezing so my doctor told me to wait until next week, Just a quick question I

have been sneezing like crazy ever since I started these shots - I even missed

work yesterday because my allergies were so bad.  Sneezing beats wheezing

anytime but is this normal?

Had my shots Tuesday. Last week I did have to burst and taper my steroids, but

didn't end up on oxygen during the day just my normal overnight oxygen. I

started my xolair on April 1st and end of August and September is my BAD time so

this is going to be a good test.

I AM NO DOCTOR but I do have a couple of questions based on my own experience. 

Has your doctor prescribed a nasal spray?  And do you take an antihistamine? 

Those are two things that help me if I begin sneezing a lot.  Have not had

sneezing episodes as a result of the xolair.  had too many before xolair.

Holed up in AC this summer! Approaching 5th anniversary of being on Xolair!

Getting over a sinus infection and having a weird issue with a " smell disorder "

that seems to be linked to a dental implant (and failure and removal) that had a

sinus lift associated with it. If it doesn't change by the time I see the oral

surgeon again in mid-September, we need to do some investigating. I walk about

with the same smell/taste all of the time. It is an odd smell/taste - not

awful, not lovely, but weird and annoying! Has anyone gone through something

like that?

This has been happening since June, when I had my 2 month checkup and he

" tweaked " the bolt in my mouth, making me want to go through the roof. 3 weeks

later, he removed it. Healing now, only to try again (but want the smell thing

cleared up first too!).

I take Zyrtek every day - I have always sneezed but it has been so bad the last

few weeks- you know the kind of sneezing fit were you can't catch a breathe and

you end up light headed.  I know for a fact that ragweed season started two

weeks early in the Northeast and is record highs so this could all be a matter

of bad timing. .

Yes, I know the feeling...fortunately, I haven't had one of those spells since

being on xolair,

but I can't speak for everyone. 

This August I have been on xolair for 4 years!  And looking back, it has made a

big difference.  I still have asthma from time to time, but not bad enough to

keep me from being active or doing what I want to do.  Did have a respiratory

infection in December/January and took one short round of prednisone, first in

over three years.  None since, and have had no problems since....

 

Hope you can get over this sneezing episode quickly!  I haven't seen anything

on the ragweed here, as of yet.  But then we have not had any measurable rain

in about a month, so it may not be blooming!

Hi, Doug,

Yes I am.  I am back from Minnesota and vacation. That included three weddings

and hot and humid weather and even helped with the farm chores.  Filling feed

carts and giving the cows hay.

  I am back at the convent and found that the house has been cleaned and

scrubed but not my room or at least part of it.  I still have to clean the

construction dust in the bathroom and on the dresser.  I am off predisone now

thanks to Xolair and going to Minnesota for 3 weeks. 

 

I went without Xolair for an extra three weeks am ok.  Now I have had my shot

and am doing good.
