Guest guest
We went through over a month of over 100 degrees last summer.. We have floor fans going in every room that we use and they circulate the air as our basic living quarters are in a circular pattern (walking pattern.) When the temp reaches 80 in our house, even with the fans, I begin to feel smothered. But I read somewhere that when that happens, have a fan blowing across your face helps. Last summer, I drank a lot of iced water/diet drinks, and in the hottest part of the day, did not do much activitiy.  I can truly sympathize with you and your Mother-in-law! It is the " muggy " heat that really bothers me...the dry heat is still hot, but not as hard to breathe in. I agree, too, about the xolair...has helped tremendously, especially when the mold count is extremely high.  Hope things cool off for you all quickly....We haven't officially hit 100, although some of the suburbs and surrounding areas have hit 100. We haven't yet at our house...But it has been close and it has been hot...but I'm not complaining after last summer!  Praying for safety for you and your Mother-in-law during this time.  Adah From: DougB <uca79iii@...> Subject: [ ] HEAT WAVE Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2010, 8:16 AM  It has reached 106 here in NW Arkansas about every day for the past week. The heat index is about 112. The central AC in our little house can only get down to 83. Praise the Lord for fans that make it cooler. It hasn't effected my asthma much but my 85 year old mother in law is really in bad shape. She nebs about every 4 hours using an albuterol/atrovent mix. Her doc will probably have to add Advair or another inhaled steroid soon. I shudder to think if I was not on Xolair. It would be 40 mg of evil candy daily and nebbing with xopenex, pulmicort and atrovent about every 3 hours. UGH! Guest guest
Here in Dallas we are having 105 egree plus weather and not only is grass pollen here but ragweed is coming plus cedar elm is pollenating...so very nice. I am getting over a bad sickness so I have to be really careful. And all of you should try to be careful too.
