Air quality

Sue,

I echo all your concerns. I originally eliminated moving back to the

Phoenix area when seeing a site that put it on the top 25 for air

pollution/bad air. And they listed Tucson on the top 25 of good air. It

may have been CNN or Money. Another concern for Arizonans is Valley Fever.

Usually you don't know you even have it, or think it's a flu but some people

die from it. It could be a huge concern for our families.

Kathy,

Someone else on another list told me:

Tucson gets hit with blowins from the south (Patagonia++) and very hard

from the north (Roosevelt!!)    When my friend's healthy normal husband

died from a northern blowin, I made a firm decision against Tucson.

She also said stuff blows north from Mexico which makes me wonder about

pollution from south of the border cheap manufacturing facilities...

I am starting to wonder if Northern AZ--Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott are

a healthier place to live even with the controlled burns, who knows???

Isn't Valley Fever from all the dry dust blowing around??

My kid is not getting any better here, we will give it a couple more

months till our rental expires and then move on somewhere else, just

don't know where yet.

Have you found any spots that sound good to you?

You might try the American Lung Association. I believe they have a rating

system. I think a significant rating is their small particle rating for cities

because as we have discussed, it is the smallest particles that can cause the

most problems.

Why not ask Dr. Gray about what area to live in close to his office? I am sure

he must know if the air, etc. is healthy and what area would be the most healthy

for you and your son. D

Hello all!

Have any of you all been having symptoms with the heat and yellow, orange, red

air quality.  The high ozone levels have set me off some and now I am

exhausted

and can't seem to recover. I have started my Advair again and using my

inhaler.

Seems like if it's not the mold it's the ozone here in MO.  It's just been a

very hot summer and I want to get back to normal.  I just so my doc a month ago

and peak flows were ok but not great.

Thanks for letting me vent - maybe I should get Doug's mask to wear outside.

Lol!!!
