2008 Conference Update

Hello folks,

The 2008 National Conference in Detroit is quickly approaching. The

committee is finalizing the schedule and preparing the registration

packet for the printer. We had an additional challenge before Christmas

when we learned that the Detroit Riverfest International Fireworks were

changed from WEd. of conference week to Monday. But we took it in stride

and juggled the schedule. We actually think it's going to work better.

Here's some info we can pass along to you for planning. ... all

subject to change.... but pretty firm...

Banquet will be on Thursday night, June 26th.

DAAA games begin on Saturday, June 21st. DAAA golfing on Wed. ,

June 25th.

First dance on Friday, June 20th.

Fashion Show....for " kids " only...School age... and younger...

Show off your Halloween Costume.. favorite sports team...Picture day

school clothes, special occassion / " dress up " or playtime dress up..

Monday, June 23.

Talent Show , Tuesday, June 24th

Lots of new and exciting workshops

A " legal " and fun Casino afternoon and evening, guarteed to get

you up and meet people on Saturday, June 21st.

Trips to the brand new Detroit Art Institute and the Interactive

and exciting DEtroit Science Museum on WEd., June 25th

For the teens and Young adults.. Hard Rock Cafe, Attic, Pizza and

Ice Cream

Detroit Tigers Baseball on Tuesday, June 24th.

The MAB is arriving and doing workshops on Sunday... and clinic

during the week.

Expo , Monday-Wed.

Detroit International Riverfest days...with outside music...

entertainment...foooood and fireworks.... all weekend long Friday, June

20th with the Fireworks Monday night... June 23rd.

So if you have not made your hotel reservations... do so today. If you

need your password information, call Maureen at the LPA main office and

she'll be glad to help you out. You must pay a $65 per room conference

registration deposit to make your hotel reservation.
