Guest guest
Wow! I never knew you were on such a high dose of Pred. I've taken bursts of Pred over the years and after being on it for 2 consecutive weeks the horrific side effects would kick in. I can't imagine being on that dose for years. Xolair has been the miracle drug for me too. Not that long ago I had to go off Xolair for a short while because of a battle with an insurance company. I lasted 6-days without Pred. If I had to stop taking Xolair now I think it would put me on disability. While I'm on Xolair I can run 4 mph up and down hills pushing 2 kids in a jogging stroller. Granted, I can't do that all the time but I can do it most of the time. I have had no side effects from Xolair, only the benefits that it was intended for. I'm glad to hear you are doing so well Doug. Breathe deep my friend. I was the first patient in the state of Arkansas to get Xolair in September 2003. I have been getting two injections every two weeks ever since then and have never had any reactions whatsoever. I used to be on 40 mg of Prednisone daily which gave me degenerative disk disease in my neck, pre mature cataracts and diabetes. One year after starting Xolair I started getting relief and my use for Prednisone disappeared. Now, I only neb once sometimes twice a day with xopenex and atrovent. The doc has kept me on Advair too. For me xolair has been a Godsend! It has given me life and breath Doug Group founder Co-owner/co- moderator
