Hi All:

I am new to this xolair group and have had four shots over the last 4 months.

Although I have developed food induced wheezing over the last year, I am on this

shot as I have been sick for 4 plus years with eosinophilic gastroenteritis

(EG). I was misdiagnosed for a very long time which has taken a huge toll on my

life.

I will spare everyone the horrible story of going to many medical institutions

and dealing with many doctors. It was not until last year that I found an

immunologist who specializes in EG and asthma that I have gotten a better

diagnosis and which lead to the xolair treatment.

Based on several colonoscopy and upper scopes over the last 5 years, my doctor

found that my IgE level in my gut tissue was very high, however, my blood IgE

and eosinophil levels are very low/normal. With this said the hope is that the

xolair will allow me to regain eating foods that I have terrible reactions (GI,

breathing, etc.) to. Currently I can only eat potato, wheat, tomato, onion

safely.

The xolair seems to be helping with my wheezing and I think some with my gut

problems – time is clearly a factor. My doc has been trialing xolair since it

came out and has had very good results with many of his asthma patients.

With all this said, I am wondering if anyone in this group has had itching or

dizzy spells due to use of xolair. My medical situation is complex and not sure

if these issues are related to the shot. Any feedback would be great. I had

only one really bad dizzy spell, but have noticed that my balance is a little

bit off.

Best,

Ellen C.
