Yes, it is possible. I have been so happy with Xolair. I have been on it about 6

years now. I love the stuff.

I'm at the beginning of my shots.I've had 2 sets of shots over the last 3

weeks...150mgs in each arm. I came down with a sinus issue that resulted in a

severe sore throat, ear pain and some buzzing in my head. My allergist put me on

a penicillin to clear up. My question is- is this fairly common with the start

of Xolair? And, hopefully, does it go away? Other than that, I am able to work

out again and have lost about 10 lbs in the last 3 weeks. My breathing seems

better. Is this possible in such a short time?

Mark,

I had sore throats and sinus problems before and after Xolair. Personally, I

think we will always have them and they are not related to xolair. Only your

doctor can tell you for sure.

You got relief that fast??? Woah, congratulations!!! You are one of the few

who get relief fast relief. I can just imagine how well you will be doing after

a year. :)

I started getting 2 shots every two weeks of Xolair in September 2003.

It took me a year to see any results. Now I am doing GREAT!

Xolair has given me my life back. Thanks for posting :)

Allergies and infections are rampant right now...at least where I live...I would

not attribute that to xolair.

Some people have an immediate or relatively immediate response to xolair.  For

others it can take as long as a year before there is a definite positive

improvement.

Glad you have had quick results.

Unfortunately, yes, it is a known side effect of Xolair. Both my pulmo and PCP

have told me that. Thinking back ... yes, I did have an increase in upper

respiratory infections while on Xolair. At the time I thought it was just a

continuation of chronic upper respiratory disease but now that I've been off it

for 1-1/2 years I can tell I'm not getting the upper respiratory infections as

much.

On the other hand, I have more asthma and sinusitis too w/o the Xolair.
