Guest guest Posted June 20, 2010 Report Share Posted June 20, 2010 The biggest issue with that is there has yet to be a trial that demonstrates efficacy with TNF alpha inhibitors such as etanercept (Enbrel) used in severe asthmatics. While the theory/science appears sound, it just isn't there yet. That compounded with the fact that Enbrel is not indicated in its labeling for asthma, use will not be approved by insurance companies, and it will likely be difficult to use in that case.
