Guest guest
I've been off here for about 2 months... I just had to take a break from it all, even a break from myself and my excessive mouthy-ness! I knew I was getting too mouthy on here and for what, to constantly prove I'm right? Then I realized, whether I'm right or wrong, or whether you are or not for that matter, I missed the following part of me... a lot actually, and that was sharing all of what I found on all of us online with all of you:). Whether it was on us in kids or adults, in sports or academia, in Achondroplasia or the rarest from of dwarfism out there... and wherever we were found around the globe too. So, for you all... and like it was in the past too, for you all to decide on yer own as what to like or to agree with any of them. Note: Some of you might have known of these already, I dunno? However, if you did, oh well:P. However, if you didn't, it's great to be you today! In no absolute particular order, here they be: Mom of an lp writes letter to the opinion section of her newspaper about the derogatory nature of the word, midget. To read it, it's the second letter down on page. You go, ! http://tinyurl.com/2lbgur That adoption case which I believe many of us are familiar with is appealed to the highest court in Iowa, read here: http://tinyurl.com/28xqw7 I think the above kid should stay with those he is spending his early years with, those who know him the best and who love him as he is, in Iowa. My opinion only:). A key protein has been discovered, Osteocrin, and one that may encourage natural bone growth. So, hey, maybe ELL will be out one day on its own and this may be the way to grow? Who knows, and prolly not for many year too? Tho, I dunno if want a larger back even if it does help me grown several inches vertically:P. http://tinyurl.com/ysh78e A day in the life of Marcello, a Primordial. http://tinyurl.com/yossce 7 of the last 9 Munchkins in vid and article, and you gotta see it as the reporter goes to each:). This vid was taken inside the Culver City hotel in California, where they all had stayed almost 70 years ago for the filming of the now famous 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz. An American Express comercial may come up at start, so wait for Munchkin interview. http://tinyurl.com/2avgfy The Half Pints, the lp basketball team not the wrestlers, make the news with their 'anti-teasing' campaign. http://tinyurl.com/39con4 Meet Weston, CHH little guy. http://tinyurl.com/286ozh and here too, its kinda the same article but this one has a Casey Hubelbank vid with it. That the short bodies for Schultz' Peanuts comic strip characters, ya know the one with Charlie Brown, Lucy and company, could their bodies been really 'modeled', so to speak, after a colleague of his named, Frieda Rich, an lp? A new biography of the famous cartoonist suggests that, amongst other things as well. Frieda, you on here? Or for that matter, does anyone on here know her? Just curious:). http://tinyurl.com/2pow7h Meet Muñoz, not an lp but an ap artist who made a stature of us that's in exhibit (in the UK) amongst his other creations. http://tinyurl.com/3cmd3m Genetics pioneer, Dr. Victor A. And yes, I know that my sense of humor is odd, shut up! haha But, still, did you all know that, 'Dwarf Crime' in Sweden is a 'Growing Problem'? I kid you not, go there if ya doubt me!! It did make me wonder if one of us was traveling on a train in Sweden would one of the dwarf gang members give us a break and not rob our suitcase's contents, ya know, kinda giving us a professional courtesy thing. lol And now, I see I have to affix an additional sticker to the outside of my luggage along with everything else required:p, when traveling to Sweden, something along this one, Please do not rob, contents owned by dwarf! http://tinyurl.com/2flexv and here http://tinyurl.com/2px86a and here, which is one of the original sources for it, I think http://tinyurl.com/2yg9g7 Sundance 2008, " Anywhere USA. Last ands truly least, the issue and not those who stand against it, a college fraternity gets disciplined by its own head group stating, " The conduct of these members by holding this event is unbecoming of a man of DU and is not what we stand for, " Kirk said. I couldn't agree more, and with Arnold's statement in the article as much:). http://tinyurl.com/ytk6sn and here, the very last and least, tho not related to college frat issue, they did make the news themselves too. Guest guest
Yes indeed, Alyce! I am VERY happy for him, to have received this recognition of his work. And what a great picture of him too! I will never forget the very first time I went to Hopkins, scheduled to see Dr. McKusick, in hopes to learn which type of dwarfism I have. As soon as he saw my hands and feet he became so excited, he immediately began dragging me all over Hopkins to show me to other colleagues! I can still hear him saying, " Look! Look at her hands! And her feet too! " I was astounded how anyone could possibly find MY hands and feet so amazing at all! But I will always remember with a smile, how it was all I could do to keep up with my hands that day. : ) Congratulations, Dr. McKusick! Adelaide In a message dated 1/29/08 3:34:32 P.M.
