Guest guest
Welcome! From personal experience: Acid reflux = insufficient stomach acid Insomnia, poor sleep = poor thyroid function http://raypeat.com/articles/articles/insanities.shtml Raw milk is highly beneficial (contains small amounts of thyroid hormone in it) IF you can digest it properly. Dairy needs good stomach acid and pepsinogen (to be converted to pepsin) to digest the protein in the milk AND the correct pH in the intestines to finish digesting it. You are welcome to email me off list to discuss further...if you'd like.<G> jennibluis@... -Jenn > > I am a 61 year old youngster who has been have stomach problems for the last 6 years. Between food allergies, and acid re flux, I never had a good nights sleep, and the doctors just kept giving me the pills. - started with Kefir, than became Gluten free, and now using Raw milk. I read all my Rawdairy email, and learning everyday. Thanks for having me on board. Guest guest
Hi Jenn:My wife has a thyroid problem and your comment on thyroid hormone interested me. Is this T3 or T4 and in what quantities? Is it absent or concentrated in whey?Kurtis Welcome! Guest guest
I don't really know the answer to that question...I'm guessing it's in the solids because the nutritionist recommended cheese too. My understanding is the liver has to do the converting before the thyroid can use the thyroid hormone....or thyroid tissue or whatever...so if your liver isn't working well...it just goes to waste. He told be to feed my liver first. Taking small amounts of grass fed dairy throughout the day was better than chugging it all at once. -Jenn > > > > I am a 61 year old youngster who has been have stomach problems > for the last 6 years. Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group! I am Nena, just turned 53 and a 22 year old survivor of HIV/AIDS! I also just recently joined this group and find the information wonderfully helpful. Even if situations don't apply directly to me all the time it helps me to learn more from others and what they are going through. We can all be here to help educate each other and support one another, that's what it's all about! Thanks for this group!! Nena in N. California > > Hello everyone, > Thanks for letting me join up. I am a long term AIDS survivor, 19 yrs. now and doing better than anytime ever in my past. I face many similar issues and I am grateful and excited to be part of the Group. I am 51, living in NC at this time. > > Kind regards to you all > > > >
Guest guest
First of all I would like to say hello to my fellow allergy sufferers. I am about to start Xolair and was glad to see a place where it's use and effects are openly discussed. I am hopeful that it will help with my asthma (had since birth). I currently am taking symbicort, albuterol and singulair with marginal results. On top of that I am recently married and moved into my wife's home. She recently gave away a dog she had for 4 years and we are desperately trying to " clean " it up for me since I am allergic to dog dander. In addition I have not been able to exercise efficiently for the last year for various reasons and I can definitely tell that that has had an effect on my asthma as well. We have 3 flights of stairs at my office and I am the only one who takes the elevator. When I take the stairs I feel like I need 5 minutes just to get my breathing under control. Sick of this !!! Sick of this !!! > > > , I hope Xolair helps you as it has helped me. I remember struggling to walk up the grade in my back yard five years ago, but now giving it a minor thought. I've put Xolair on par with Prednisone as far as improving my breathing, but without the side effects, although I do sort of miss the superman rush that I get with Prednisone (which comes at a great physical price, like cataracts and weak bones and weight gain). I also realize that serious exercise is a key ingredient to maintaining a good quality of life. It's much better to be out hiking in the mountains or even working in the yard than parked inside near the refrigerator. Keeping my weight under control with physical activity and exercise is also a key to health since my compromised lungs don't fare well with the extra pounds. I just had a visit with my doctor and truthfully explained how much my quality of life has improved over the years since getting Xolair ... a lot at first but then gradually over the years. All this while the ravages of aging well into my sixties would normally work against me. I realize everyone is different and Xolair may or may not help you, but do give it a shot and try to supplement it with good physical exercise.
