The study is not complete and, to my knowledge, no new information has been released since this warning. It is a point of caution that you should discuss with your doctor. I will be interested to see the control data. One of the things that happens with folks who have serious respiratory disease, is that the continued/repeat battle to achieve appropriate oxygen levels in the blood stream and organs can cause strain on the heart. I want to see how the study controls for this. Also, hypertension is a long-term effect of prednisone use. What percentage of hte patients on Xolair were steroid dependent prior to taking Xolair as opposed to those who did not receive Xolair?
