Are there any new inhalers?

Ever since I got a mild case of the flu 2 wks ago, I have had to start using my

inhaler again. I haven't used it for years. And yes, I had the shots for both

kinds of flu.

I also started Singulair a couple of days ago, with not much response so far,

but I think I should be taking it in the daytime instead of at night since the

daytime is when I have problems.

I am using the Maxair inhaler, but even that one gives me the shakes.

Is anyone aware of anything newer on the market with fewer side effects?

So far, I am avoiding calling my pulmonologist.

Also, I had to wait an extra week for my Xolair shot because staff on vacation,

so that may contribute.

Thanks,

Carol

Have you tried the Xopenex HFA inhaler? I can't use inhaled bronchodilators

anymore (I have a rare 'opposite' reaction) but before it was figured out that I

had this problem, Xopenex was the only inhaler that didn't make me shake. Also,

I wouldn't put off calling your Pulmonologist - I've called mine so many times

he now picks up his cell phone (long story as to why I call that #) 'Hey Meg' -

sometimes you just need another person/brain on your case.
