Guest guest
I had received this information at work. It is from the Independent Living Research Utilization's emailing list that I am on through work. I work for an Independent Living Center in New Hampshire. Below you will find some information about the first Bloom's Conference. It caught my eye because I saw, Short Statured and went to the website. Although I haven't found any pictures, I did notice a few reference to the LPA. Please pass this information on to anyone you feel may benefit from this information. ~ a First Ever " Bloomies' Conference " scheduled for May 2008 The first conference ever for those who experience Bloom's syndrome and their families and friends is scheduled for May 27-28, 2008 at the University of Illinois at Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. Titled " Bloom's Connection: Unraveling the Mystery, " the conference is sponsored by the Bloom's Support Network and is designed to provide information on the independent living movement to an underserved segment of the disability community. Participants will share experiences, tips, and strategies for " living the good life. " Bloom's syndrome is an autosomal recessive genetic condition, meaning that both parents must be carriers in order to pass it along to a child. The syndrome is a rare condition affecting all of the body systems. While the syndrome impacts individuals in different ways, there are some common characteristics: a long, narrow face; small and slight stature; and decreased immune system responses. For further information on the conference, contact the coordinator, Sheryl Grossman, at (314) 863-3211 or info@.... The Bloom's Support Network also sponsors a Web site, http://www.bloomsconnect.org. Financial contributions can be made to Jewish Family and Children's Service, 10954 Schuetz Road's. Louis, MO, 63146. To earmark the contribution to the conference, indicate " Bloom's syndrome conference " in the memo line. --------------------------------- Special deal for users & friends - No Cost.
