So sorry to hear about this, Doug!!!!!! You know all too well what

Prednisone does to us!!!!! If the steriod injections and radiofrequency

ablation

hasn't worked, why not use pain medications? You've been through a whole

heck of a lot!

I'm prayin' everything gets better for you!!!!!

As most of you know, because of many years on pred I have had to have two

cervical disk fusion surgeries. C-4 to 6 in 1998 and C-6 to 7 with a metal

I still have pain down my arms because of these surgeries. My my

neurosurgeon says that another surgery to fuse C-3 to 4 would not help and he

sent

me to a pain clinic.

They have given me small steroid shots in the exact area of pain and

Radiofrequency ablation without success. Now they want me to have a large Pred

burst and long taper? NO WAY!

The drug that caused the problem in the first place is now the one that is

going help? I wish xolair took away post op pain too.

Good grief,

Doug

Hi Dick!

I read that about Darvocet... can't you try percocet or lortab??????

Heck, if someday there is a cure, you're sure to be able to wean off of those

pain meds. If ANYONE can wean off of steroids and go through that torture,

you are surely strong enough to handle pain medications!!!! I stopped

taking my lortab... I was only on a small dosage... and I didn't have any

withdrawal. Now with the prednisone???? I feel like I'm going insane!!!

UGHHHHHHHHH I hate this stuff!!!!!

Best, BEST wishes to you, my friend!!!!!

The pain is down both arms. I usually take darvocet before I direct music

but the FDA has taken it off the market :(

Doug,

I found Darvocet to be useful as well. Too bad they took it off the market. Ask

your doctor about Skellaxin. It might be right for you.

I am sorry for you that it has been taken off the market.  However, the doc

prescribed it for my dad for his back (this has been 9 years ago) so he could

endure physical therapy and evidently the dosage was too much and he had what

was close to a seizure.  He began shaking uncontrollably and it took several

hours in the emergency room before they figured out what it might be and his

shaking was finally under control  He never really recovered from that

episode.  But then he was 96 and ready to go meet Jesus!  But it gave me a

nasty attitude toward darvocet.

Curious, though.  Why did they take it off the market?

Hi Doug!!! I REALLY hope the physical therapist can help you!!! They did

NOTHING for me except tell me to do kegel exercises?!?!?!?! Neurontin was

horrible for me as well!!!!

Ohhhhhhhhh how I love spring...I hate what it brings to us

sufferers....you'd think with Xolair I wouldn't have any spring allergies...

however, I'm

having a horrible time with sinus stuff, VERY, VERY dry mouth and throat

(I'm crunching on a bag of Halls every day just to keep moisture in my

mouth)....

I'm not going to complain... I had my xolair injection on the 14th and as

of friday, I've been hive free again. Grateful doesn't even cover how

happy I am!

Doug (or anyone else) please, PLEASEEEEEEEE tell me if any of you

experienced dry mouth/throat or tightness in the throat after injections? I'm

having a hard time swallowing... I thought perhaps that it was just anxiety but

even after taking a Xanax (.5mg) I'm still having trouble... I know that

anxiety can cause your throat to seem tight... but it doesn't make your mouth

and throat so dry that you can't even produce saliva!

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this...

Hope you're feelin' better, Doug!!!

Much love to all,

The pain clinic wants to give me another STEROID shot! Good grief!

I am making an appointment with a physical therapist today.

Now, back on topic to xolair..... :)

How is everyone with these horrible springtime allergies?

I dread to think what I would be without xolair!

Hi Doug , have they tried injecting neurolytic agents ? These kill the nerve and

stops the pain . I know someone who had this done. Also they have

neurostimilators that stop the pain also. They are made by a company called

Medtronic- google the info. I hope you are feeling better. My so. Has gotten

his third injection of xolair and he is still having 2 to 3 episodes Of

angioedema of his lips! It's not the 3 to 4 he was having .I was hoping it would

go away completely !! Take care Diane

I am sorry to hear of this - pain is a terrible thing to be in all the time...

You might try an online pharmacy for the medication that was working for you.

When you buy for personal use I don't think it is an issue.

I have ordered from one before not because something was taken off the market,

but because it was less than half the price...

I hope you feel better soon.

PS I feel TERRIBLE. Allergies from H*LL. Head throbbing, teeth and face hurt,

going through kleenex like there is no tomorrow, raw throat... UGHHHHHH!!!!!!
