Guest guest
Does anyone know anything good to get rid of poison ivy fast? I pulled some out of back part of yard, with gloves, but not long sleeves. Got a few bumps, normally I used tea tree oil and it would go away within a week. But this time I was going out of town for the weekend so I bought this soap called “Grandma’s poison ivy & oak bar, ingredients; lard, jewelweed and lye. Thought I’d get extra help since it was not getting better fast as it has in the past. Directions said wash with it and leave some on the skin. Well now it’s worse than I ever had it, about a half dollar size on underside of my arm, and spread a couple other places. Now I’ve gone back to tea tree oil “often†and looks like it’s drying up better. Hopefully Tea Tree oil will do it. But if anyone knows anything better please let me know. Guest guest
I would try coconut oil and DMSO, but that is only a try. I have not had poison in a long time. My recent experience with these two things is this: that it killed fungus that I could not kill under the toe nail of my right big toe. It did it fast, too. I did not have to apply it more than a few times. ________________________________ From: llje <llje@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Tue, June 7, 2011 10:26:02 AM Subject: Posion Ivy Does anyone know anything good to get rid of poison ivy fast? Guest guest
It is Dimethyl Sulfoxide and you can get it wherever farm supplies are sold. I got mine at a Tractor Supply store in the section for horse care stuff. It kills fungus. It comes in a solid white 16 oz bottle with blue letters. You can take this internally, too, and I do to kill fungus internally. ________________________________ From: llje <llje@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Tue, June 7, 2011 11:15:48 AM Subject: RE: Posion Ivy What is DMSO? Guest guest
I have gotten rid of it by rubbing it with the inside of a banana peel. It was gone in a day or two. Guest guest
I forgot about the therapeutic use of banana peels. :-) I remember hearing of a boy who burnt the bottom of his feet and used banana peels to heal them. That's worth a try on poison ivy, too. Especially if you eat bananas. ________________________________ From: J Trettel <gnp222@...> Coconut Oil Sent: Tue, June 7, 2011 1:41:37 PM Subject: Re: Posion Ivy I have gotten rid of it by rubbing it with the inside of a banana peel. Guest guest
I eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches; ala Elvis Presley. : ) Yum. I know there's other uses than for poison ivy, but can't remember what they are. What is good is you don't have to walk around smelling like tea tree oil. ; ) On Tue, Jun 7, 2011 at 12:50 PM, Lyn K <godisbest4me@...> wrote: > > > I forgot about the therapeutic use of banana peels. :-) I remember hearing > of a > boy who burnt the bottom of his feet and used banana peels to heal them. > That's > worth a try on poison ivy, too.
