Guest guest
In the health food store here it is more expensive; 2ounces for $2.75. At the grocerystore it runs about $2.95 for 8 ounces. The prices on the net varies, but I remember one place where it was pretty cheap; one pound for $1.75; http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/dry.html Dottie Citric Acid > > > > > >> From: " cosmiclibra " <cosmiclibra@...> > >> > >> Okay I've looked and looked for the citric acid and I can't find it. Guest guest
I think they also use it for wine making, try a wine making store. Hi, I also had a very hard time locating citric acid. Tried the home brew store and bought 2 oz. for $1.99. Way too much for me. Got out the yellow pages and looked up chemical supply companies. You should be able to find citric, lye, and other goodies at any chemicl supply place, if they don't carry it they can usually locate and get it for you. We purchased 50lb. for $47.50 thats about $.06 per ounce. Hope this helps. ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it. Guest guest
Through most local chemical suppliers - look under chemicals in the yellow pages- you can get both food grade and technical grade citric acid for just under a $1.00/lb. The downside is you have to buy it in 50# bags and most places have a $100+ minimum order. Can't hurt to call though :-) Dan I found it locally for $3.40/ lb. is this pretty good for finding it locally in bulk? Any thoughts? , Seattle

Guest guest
Morning everyone, I usually just hang in the back ground but I have picked up so many great tips from everyone on this list I had to add where I got my citric acid from. I bought it on ebay. I paid something like 2 dollars for it. And I still have some left over. The sellers were great I had the item within days after I sent payment. Try doing a search under citric acid. Good luck. >From: heidic75@... >Reply-onelist >onelist >Subject: Re: Re: citric acid >Date: Wed, 15 Mar 2000 22:19:49 EST > >Hi , > > I live in Seattle also, do you know of a supplier that is close to >downtown? > Thanks for the help. > > >Heidi >who's dying to make bath bombs but doesn't want to pay $7.50 for 12 oz of >citric from the local aromatherapy shop ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
Guest guest
You can also look in the yellow pages under 'Chemicals'. I've bought everything from bottles, bags, lye(Na and K), citric, et al that way. It's much cheaper than any internet site and no shipping cost. The yellow pages are my absolutely irreplaceable source for everything. HTH,
Guest guest
Hi I'm new to the list and wanted to say " hello " . Fruit Fresh (the preservative you using in canning) is citric acid. You can find it in supermarkets and chain stores like Wal-Mart. Robin

Guest guest
Hi, Karma. Yes, the citric I use comes in powdered form from Now Foods at about $1.95; what a bargin. We get it at Whole Foods at Austin and only use tap water for our hair and body. You'll love it in your hair. Now, I don't use Citric for underarms, as I read in a post lately; with the Borax, we don't need to do that. Best to you, Obie. Thinking about a Trust rather than a will? Ask southerntrust@... Re: Re: Antiperspirants Karma, I've seen the posts about an anti-p for a while so I thought I'd add my own experience for your benefit. Earlier, I decided against exotic fixes and in 1994, I read about 20 Mule Team Boxax. It came across the country with our great-grandparents and is a wonderful, inexpensive body cleanser. Use Borax at 1/2 to 3/4 cups in a bathtub or 1 teaspoon in the bathroom sink and bacteria cannot feed on us, cast off and then make us smell bad. I tried it then and am still using it; have no need for the anti-p. I even use it for everything that touches my body; clothes, bed linens, etc. I use it in my hair and then use Citric Acid as a cream rinse at 1 teaspoon in a quart of water. I just love this as part of my life style. My hair is so soft and easy to comb. I wish you'd try it, hope you'll be pleased. Best regards, Obie. Guest guest
Ummm, I'm kind of new to making this kind of stuff--- where does one find citric acid? I'm thinking I've seen it near the canning stuff, but I'm not sure if that is right or not??? Thanks, Cat << Place in a large bowl: 2 cups of baking soda 1 cup of cornstarch 1 cup of citric acid 30 to 40 drops of fragrance oil and a few drops of food coloring (use pigments if you have them) >>
